Skepticism Mounts Regarding Microsoft’s Mobile PlatformI really hate to contribute to the mounting skepticism regarding whether Windows Phone 7 has a chance, because at a certain point it can become self-fulfilling. On the other hand, you as consumers need to make choices, so it’s important to be open about the issues. And those issues are: Will developers be motivated to create apps? SoftMaker Office 2010 Mobile Version Available!I use the excellent SoftMaker Office on both my Windows Mobile device and my Windows 7 laptop. It's not only a cheaper alternative to the MS Office desktop, but the mobile version has excellent functionality that far surpasses the (now free) MS Mobile version.

Windows Phone 7 Coming in October!It’s not an official announcement, but the evidence, including a passing comment by a Microsoft exec, suggests that Windows Phone 7 will launch in October. This week we’ll also note more information about this forthcoming software, as well as yet another video demo on a prototype device. And we’ll cover the interesting news that Microsoft will be launching a new mobile OS for enterprise based on Windows Mobile 6.5.

New Version of Resco Keyboard Pro availableResco recently updated their soft keyboard for WinMo... "Version 6.00 introduces a series of minor and major improvements. Besides the changes in most of the existing keyboard layouts, we’ve created a brand new navigation layout with lots of handy tools such as the navigation keys and copy, cut, paste and select all buttons. We’ve also introduced a secondary symbol layout with a new set of frequently used symbols.

Samsung Marketshare at 10%: Not So Fast, SammySamsung Electronics Co. announced its plans to more than double its sales of Smartphones by the fourth quarter of this year in an attempt to secure the number four position for worldwide sales which is currently held by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. Samsung is currently the world's second largest manufacturer of cell phones and holds the fifth position for Smartphones at just below 5% of world sales. Samsung is preparing to release its much anticipated Galaxy S Smartphone which runs the Android OS.

Not directly smartphone-related, I know, but bloggers should really listen up. Land Air Sea Warfare now available for Windows Mobile!I reviewed this title on our iPhone blogs last month, and if you are a Window's mobile gamer I have good news. SPB TV 2.0 now available!SPB TV is a real winner (get it here), and is fast becoming one of my all-time favorite apps on either iPhone or Windows Mobile (see my early WM review here). Now at version 2.0, the channel list has really grown, and I love watching old forgotten SF movies on one of the many free classic channels available.

Is the Microsoft Kin 2 Worth Kinsideration?The Kin 2 is a three way collaborative effort involving Microsoft, Sharp, and Verizon. The result is a new approach on the way to Smartphone telephony that for me was disappointment piled on disappointment. It seems strange somehow that while the Windows Mobile operating system is ready for a serious redo, this Microsoft device has nothing to do with WM OS.
